• Jatiluwih’s rice terraces date back more than 500 years. They were shaped by local farmers using the subak system, a traditional Balinese irrigation network that goes back to the 9th century.

⛺✨ We camped high above Lake Bratan at Wanagiri, and even though the clouds rolled in, it only added to the mystic feeling of being up in the mountains.

Surrounded by mist, silence, and endless views peeking through the fog, it felt like a dream.

🌊 Location: Central Bali, near Bedugul, in Tabanan Regency.

🏞️ Altitude: Around 1,200 meters (3,900 ft) above sea level, making the climate cooler than coastal Bali.

⛪ Famous temple: Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, a water temple dedicated to the Balinese water goddess Dewi Danu

💧 Importance: Major water source for irrigation in central Bali’s rice fields.

🚤 Activities: Boating, canoeing, fishing, photography.

🌄 Scenery: Surrounded by mountains and often misty, giving it a mystical atmosphere.

🌸 Nearby attractions: Bali Botanic Garden, Wanagiri Hidden Hills viewpoints, Handara Gate.

Aling Aling isn’t just one waterfall — it’s four unique ones hidden deep in Bali’s northern jungle 🌿💧

Each fall has its own character:

🌀 Aling Aling Waterfall – The tallest at 35 meters, with a powerful, sacred flow. You can’t swim directly under it out of respect, but just standing nearby is awe-inspiring.

🌊 Kroya Waterfall – A smaller 5-meter fall that’s popular for sliding and cliff jumping. We skipped the slide this time but loved watching others take the plunge!

💦 Kembar Waterfall – Known as the “Twin Waterfalls,” with two streams falling side by side into a serene pool. Super photogenic and peaceful.

🌿 Pucuk Waterfall – The tallest jump spot at around 15 meters — definitely for the brave ones! (Not us… this time 😅)

We stayed in Batur for quite a long time because of the weather. After the stoms we continue the ride around the island again, cutting across the north and preparing for the second volcano: Bratan.

We took the backroads and found some really beutiful people and places along the way. We also stopped for another little riding shoot and the photos really turned out amazing! Staying in Gitgit before ascending to Bratan! ☺️✨🏍️💨🗺️☀️📸

After ascending the volcano on foot we did a mini ride on this cool little backrop of the volcano! I’ve never ridden in volcanic ash and rock before so this was deffinetly an experience! 🗺️

I did get a lit of confidence from my two offroad courses I took at SMC @sverigesmotorcyklister I deffinetly feel the difference in my riding capabilities after these courses. Hope I can take the third offroad course one day if I ever go back to Sweden! 🏍️💨

We left Bali’s jungle and followed the coastal road toward Amed, passing the most eastern point in all of Bali! 🏍️

It was one of those drives that makes you slow down without even thinking about it — the jungle suddenly opened up and the sea was there!

My little ocean heart immediately skipped a beat! 💙 🌊

We passed fishing villages where an extreme number of boats lined the beaches, kids waved and shouted “hello!” as we rode by, and every now and then, Mount Agung would appear through the haze like a quiet giant watching over everything.

Sometimes the road was so narrow to the cliffs it felt like I could fall straight into the sea. It felt like this route was completely different from the Bali most people talk about.

When we arrived in Amed the village was very quiet. It is still out of season and not a lot of travelers yet. Very excited to explore more! 🫶

On our way back from Pura Lempuyang we found this beautiful spot in the rice fields overlooking Mount Agung!

Mount Agung is Bali’s highest and most sacred volcano, standing at 3,031 meters (9,944 ft). It’s an active stratovolcano and last erupted in 2019, with its most devastating eruption in 1963 killing over 1,000 people.

In Balinese Hinduism, Mt. Agung is believed to be the home of the gods and the axis of the universe. At its base lies Pura Besakih, Bali’s largest and holiest temple.

Hiking to the summit is no joke—treks usually start around midnight to reach the top for sunrise. It’s a challenging climb, but the views above the clouds are unforgettable.

Did you know? From the summit, you can sometimes see Mount Rinjani on Lombok in the distance.

Our first day riding went well! 💧

Along the way we found this beautiful ricefield valley and just had to stop for some photos! 🌱

Mid shoot we got a full tropical downpour! Hair dripping wet, rain mixing with the heat—Bali gave us the full welcome package 😂✌️

We are making our way towards the east coast starting from Ubud (central Bali area) and tonight we are staying in the Sidemen area. It is known for its:

• Stunning rice terraces – similar to Tegallalang but much less crowded.

• Traditional Balinese culture – you’ll find local villages, weaving, ceremonies, and a slower pace of life.

• Mount Agung views – on clear days, the views of Bali’s highest volcano are incredible.

• Peaceful nature & quiet – it’s a great escape from the busy parts of Bali like Canggu or Ubud.

• Trekking opportunities – rice field walks, river valleys, and jungle trails.

• Authentic charm – Sidemen is still relatively untouched by mass tourism, which makes it feel more raw and real.

It’s a dreamy place for anyone wanting to experience the “old Bali” and soak in nature and culture.

✨A Dream Come True at Malamadre Motorcycles✨

In 2016, when I was 21, I stumbled upon @malamadremotorcycles motorcycles and was instantly hooked. Their builds, their style, their entire vibe—it was everything I loved about motorcycles. They became one of my biggest inspirations when I rebuilt my Ducati Monster 600 from ‘97 🫶

Now, at 30, I found myself standing in their shop in Bali, meeting Dirk, the mastermind behind it all. Walking through the space, seeing the incredible builds up close, was surreal! But the absolute highlight? Getting to collaborate with them and ride one of their motorcycles around Bali. Pinch me! 🥰

Riding in Bali is a whole different world compared to Europe. Traffic rules? More like traffic suggestions. Lanes? Optional (but we do ride on the left side). Road conditions? Anything from smooth asphalt to jungle paths barely wide enough for a scooter.

You dodge dogs, weave through chaos, and somehow, it all just flows. The biggest rule? Keep moving, hesitation will get you stuck real quick.

It’s messy, unpredictable, and a little wild… but honestly? It makes every ride an adventure and I absoloutely LOVE this kind of functioning caos ☺️❤️✌️✨🛵

72 hours, 2 buses, 2 flights, 1 airport floor night, and way too many kilos of luggage later… finally in Bali!!! ☀️✌️

Took a bus, then another. Flew to Copenhagen. Crashed at my little sister’s place. Flew to Bangkok. Slept (or tried to) on the airport floor for 8 hours. Then one last flight, and I made it!

All this while rocking moto boots, a 20kg backpack, a 7kg backpack, and carrying my helmet like an emotional support pet 🪖 10/10 recommend for the full adventure experience 👍

Now, time to recover and actually enjoy this place 🏍️🌸🤙🌊☀️🇮🇩

I personally feel like there are lots of people who sell everything and just leave to travel the world, it’s not really a new idea and I am deffinetly not the first person doing this. But even though it’s not new, I still feel like most people do not share the ”before” process. To me it feels like everyone just automatically fast forwards to the travel part and that the preparing part wasn’t a big deal. TO ME IT IS! 😅

Hence, this post and the next few posts I will share all the stuff I did (and am still doing) to prepare for a life decision like this.

I am not posting this for people to feel sorry for me haha it is just to be transparent that I am a human being that has ✨anxiety✨ and ✨adhd✨ and the difficulties that bring while planning big trips like this. I also want people of neurodivergince or others who find planning STRESSFUL to know that even though something feels so completely IMPOSSIBLE, you can do it! And also to show that everything does not have to be perfect in order for you to live your dreams! 😊🫶💛💯

I QUIT MY 9-5 TO MOVE TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD!! 🏍️ 🔜 🌏🇦🇺

After years of thinking about it and now being given an ultimatum, I decided to QUIT my safe and stable 9-5 job and get a working holiday visa to Australia! There are so many reasons why I did this and why it happened now. There are also still so many things I have to do. I do not really have the budget for this or a water tight plan but I am a firm believer of if there is a will there is a way 😊

I am selling everything except the things that will fit into my 68L backpack. I have canceld my apartment contract and will be leaving Sweden in Febuary! I am hoping to document the most of this journey and sharing it here and on youtube 🇦🇺 Let me know if there is anything specifically you’d like me to share! 🙌
